The Gardening Gene Skipped Two Generations
If you’re like me, you love flowers, but don’t do well taking care of them. My grandmother has a green thumb. Every plant that she touches thrives. I have a gray thumb.
Every plant that I touch that is not drought resistant or fertilizer-abuse resistant dies.
These Silver King Thyme plants that I planted last year…DEAD! These climbing Confederate Jasmine…on life support! The Double Impatiens…this is all that remains! The happy medium for me–silk flowers and plants, and this silk Bougainvillea is everything!
I love, love, love flowers! I have flowers in every room of my house except the boys’ rooms. The irony is that I hate taking care of flowers just as much as I enjoy having them, so the ones that I have are either silk or latex. It is so hard to know how much water is enough. Even harder is to remember to water them at all. Don’t judge me, I lead a busy life.
Recently I was provided a pink silk Bougainvillea with a ceramic vase by the good folks at CSI Wall Panels for the purpose of this review. They offer a great selection of flowers, plants, topiaries, and more, but back to the Bougainvillea.
Oh how I love Bougainvilleas! They always make me think of Italy or the Mexican Riviera.
The great thing about this silk Bougainvillea is that I don’t have to water it or risk over feeding it.
Maintenance & Appeal
The glazed ceramic pot adds to the realistic look of the silk Bougainvillea. It looks just as good outside on the porch as it does inside the house. As far as maintenance is concerned, it’s very low maintenance. A little light dusting or a wipe down with a moist cloth every now and then gets the job done, and that is a definite plus in my book!
