A Greek Restaurant

I recently had the pleasure of getting away and visiting Fernandina Beach, Florida for the first time. In the mood to try something different, I found myself on Amelia Island at Sabbia a little Greek restaurant located at 11 N 3rd St on Amelia Island. Sabbia is a quaint, clean little mediterranean restaurant tucked in on a side street downtown.

My Plate

After I scanned the menu for a while, I ordered the shrimp gyro with tzatziki sauce on the side,  spanakopita, and for dessert, a Nutella chocolate almond bar. I paid about $17.

The verdict

The gyro was a bust because the pita was not soft. I couldn’t even wrap it, and the plastic knife wouldn’t even cut it. I have definitely had better! The spanakopita was amazing though, and the dessert was good. The atmosphere was pleasant and the cashier was able to answer my questions about the menu although I did have to go back and ask for my tzatziki sauce. Overall, not a bad experience. I would go back, but I don’t think I would order another gyro. What’s your favorite Greek restaurant?
