A Thrift Store Haul: Just What the Doctor Ordered

After a hard day at work, I decided that a little retail therapy was in order. It’s a good thing that the Goodwill is literally the next block over from where I teach. The Goodwill did not disappoint today. I was able to walk away with this small thrift store haul.

The Small Haul

After scouring through the racks, I found one dress, one skirt, two blouses, and a pair of shoes. One of the blouses was 50% off, so I got it for $2.15 plus tax! You can’t beat that with a stick. As you can see, the H&M blouse was new with tags, or as we say on eBay, NWT. I kept three of the five items for myself. Unfortunately, despite the H&M blouse being my size, it didn’t fit me right so it will go up for sell on my online thrift store. The same is true for the Jessica Simpson calf hair stilettos, which can be purchased here Sometimes a girl’s thrift store haul is bitter-sweet.

My Favorite Picks

I love, love, love the red Express skirt for one reason besides its looks…pockets! I absolutely have a thing for dresses and skirts with pockets. It’s the way you instantly look chic once you put your hands in them, even if the skirt or dress is casual.  My overall favorite pick of the haul is the ICU sequins-collared, sheer blouse. It’s just something about the gold sequins that makes the blouse pop, not to mention that I am a gold fanatic!

The Price was Right

I paid a total of  $22.69 for the 5 items, which averaged out to be $3.78 per item. Who’s bad?! I could have saved even more money by using my Goodwill Loyaltree rewards, but I didn’t realize that I had a $5 off coupon until I got home. I hate when that happens! Oh, well, there’s always next time! If you’d like to learn more about the Loyaltree rewards app, read this post. What have you found lately at the thrift store?

You can’t beat a dress or skirt with pockets. It just can’t be done! My last thrift store finds were a bike for my daughter and even more candlesticks to add to my collection. Can’t get enough.
